Are You Ready for Love?

To wrap up February on the subject of Love, I’d like to share a tale of two women.

Our first woman is Ellen.  Ellen is a divorced Christian woman in midlife who would love to get married yet feels very discouraged.  She has dated a few guys and ventured out into dating apps but has made up her mind there are no good guys out there.  So, she has stopped looking online.  Yet, she also hesitates to try other avenues to meet people.  She feels like she has been burned.  She has told her girlfriends she wants a man in her life, but nothing is happening.

She also has started eating to feel better about her life.  She may have health challenges but is so discouraged she doesn’t have the mental energy to address the issues now.  She doesn’t feel good in her skin.  Her love life is going nowhere, but she would LOVE to be in a romantic relationship.  Her unhappy prior marriage or relationships has her skittish on men.

Our other woman in our tale is Susan.  Susan is also a divorced Christian woman in midlife who finds herself feeling lonely from time to time.  She would love to get married again.  Susan has tried dating apps and although she has not met anyone great on there, she still dabbles in them just to keep her options open.  Susan volunteers at a non-profit and she is also active in her church, teaching Sunday school, taking Bible study classes, and attending events.  She looks online for classes that might interest her.

In other words, she is meeting people.  Susan also takes good care of herself – she goes to exercise classes or does them online.  She likes to walk outside in nature.  She knows that if she eats well and moves, her mental outlook improves.  She hasn’t given up on finding love, so she feels she is ready for love.  Her prior marriage was no picnic, but she has hope that God has someone special for her and is hopeful she is going to meet him.

So, there you have our tale of two women.  I have friends and clients in both camps.  The good news is if you feel like you are in Ellen’s place, there is hope.  With some baby steps, the Ellens can feel better, get healthy and have more confidence.  You can learn to put yourself out there and be ready for love.  That’s what I help women do.  To feel good and get ready for love.

If you are Ellen and ready to move forward with your love life, schedule a call with me here and let me know what your challenges are.  We will chat about how I can help you.

In Light and Love,

Jane
