What Are You Clothed In?

fall style scarfIf I were to ask you, “What are you clothed in?” how would you answer that?

Would you say, “I’m clothed in my usual knocking around, errand-running clothes – yoga pants, or jeans and T-shirt” or “I’m clothed the same shirt and pants I wear every Monday to work”, or “I wear a coat or jacket every day, so it doesn’t matter what I wear underneath.”

Or would you you say, “I’m clothed in whatever is clean or what has worked for me for years.”

Let’s re-think these choices.  Could you do a little better, but don’t really know how to do better or how to fit your new body shape or lifestyle?

Let me tell you about someone I am using for a role model.  She is Christine LaGarde, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.  I watched an interview with her last night and I was instantly inspired by how she was dressed.  She is French and you could tell – by her manner, her sheath dress, subtle and classy jewelry, stylish shoes, and most of all how smart and accomplished she is.  (Pay no attention to who she is shaking hands with – she has to meet with all kinds of world leaders in her position.) Seeing her reminded me of a verse

Proverbs 31:25, “She is clothed with strength and dignity.”

Wouldn’t you like people to say you are clothed with strength and dignity?  No old mom or ill-fitting clothes.  No too tight, too long, too loose, too sloppy, too casual clothes.  Wouldn’t you like to feel strong, dignified, smart, classy, confident and beautiful?

Of course, the answer is yes.  So you may not be an international superstar.  You pick your own style role model.  But when you take time to clothe yourself in flattering, stylish clothes, those feelings will penetrate to your insides and give you just the boost you need to accomplish whatever you want in your life.

Now how to get started.  You can set out for boutiques and department stores in your area on your own. Or you can go online and hope that the “stylist” assigned to you will get you and your lifestyle right based on a quiz.  Sometimes the stylists get it right and sometimes they don’t.  I have tried them and more often than not, I am sending the articles back.

There is an alternative.  Let’s you and I have a conversation about your style and wardrobe needs – your lifestyle, hobbies, work, play.  Let’s put it all together and make a plan to clear out the old and ill-fitting clothes out and create space for your own Style Revolution.  New style, new you.  Are you ready?  Click here to read more about what you can look forward to and let’s schedule that style chat with me.  I am really looking forward to working with you!
